Your Library Card

Getting a card, renewing materials, placing holds, etc.

Who can get a card

Local community residents are eligible for a library card at the Baylor County Free Library. A current photo ID (i.e. driver's license) is required as well as proof of local mailing address. Those living out-of-town or out-of-state may use services in house but are unable to check out items.

Borrowing Limits

Patrons are limited to three items at any time (books, movies, audio books). Special requests for more items may be placed with the library director.

Placing Holds

Patrons may place holds on best sellers or other items at the circulation desk. Patrons will be notified by phone when items are available for check out.

Renewing Your Borrowed Items

Borrowed items may be renewed by phone or by coming in to the circulation desk. Best sellers and movies nonrenewable. If an item is not being held on a waiting list for another patron, the item may be renewed.

Library Fines
Fines are accrued at the rate of .10 per day after a two week check out period. A one day grace is given in order for books to be returned in the book drop through the library door located inside the courthouse. Overdue items that are renewed are still subject to daily fines.
